Mother's Day

What a gorgeous day for me to be able to celebrate being a mom! I consider this to be my 3rd year of being a mother (since, technically, Bodhi was conveniently housed in my womb in 2008), and, I must say that every year gets better! It is so amazing to watch him grow and become the amazing little boy that he is! Dan and I were just talking about how his smile is about the sweetest thing you've ever seen (we were reminded of this, of course, after he was stripped down to just his birthday suit and running all over the house, thinking he was pretty hot stuff, just laughing up a storm, making it impossible not to laugh with him)! Here are some other fun things that we've taken note of with him lately:
  • Above are some pictures of him washing the "tractor" (the biggest one that we can have, living in the city). He absolutely loves riding on any type of machinery, spending some great bonding time with Daddy--talk about melt my heart!
  • He gets sad whenever we get to the end of our block and turn to head the highway, instead of heading the direction of the golf course. He adores going to the golf course with Dan, and he even knows how to take the flags out of the whole and drive around on the golf cart (Grandpa Roger gives him practice with this, too)!
  • He can now say "Menards", and he becomes rather disappointed when we drive by the store without going in, because he loves to play in their outdoor play area (and it's always fun to see if Aunt Heidi is working, too)!
  • We went to Runnings to check out "Chick Days", and he had a blast running from bin to bin, checking out the ducklings, gooslings, chicks, etc. I'm thinking that we may have to expand our backyard and get some more ducks...what do you think, Daddy?
  • We're wondering where he gets his climbing skills. In no time, he can be on top of anything--from the dogs to our tall dining room table, he figures out ways to be the king of the mountain, much to our dismay! I guess that, maybe this year, he might be able to hike up Harney Peak himself, instead of being toted in the carrier!
  • We celebrated Mommy being dome with her Masters classes for the semester by going to YMCA and taking a swim in the family pool. He had a blast going down the frog slide and playing with the fountain jets that spray up water, and he also enjoyed going to the deeper water and splashing and kicking around. I think that he's really going to enjoy being able to play around at the lake this summer, especially now that he's grown into his lifejacket!
  • One of his favorite breakfast foods is sausage, especially the sausage bisquits from McDonalds. He's still a big fan of mac & cheese and hot dogs, and he really enjoys most kinds of fruit and about every vegetable (especially peas and asparagus). He's usually pretty good about trying everything, except for tuna--this one's a no go for now!
  • He has discovered M&Ms, and I think that he's going to be a chocolate lover, just like Daddy!
  • He's on the verge of wearing 3T clothes, especially when it comes to PJ's with feet in them!
