CHS Soccer!

It was a beautiful afternoon for a soccer game! A lot of the family (including the visitors from Minnesota--Brooke, Matt, Gavin, Owen, and Hayden) was there to cheer on Zack (#5), who's playing on the Varsity team this year (as a sophomore). Unfortunately, O'Gorman won; but the kids sure had a fun time playing and entertaining themselves during the game! Hayden shared some toys with Bodhi (and gave him lots of hugs), and Bodhi enjoyed watching Gavin, Owen, Baxter, and Sophie pretend that they were underwater special agents. Afterwards, we went to church (with Grandma and Grandpa Meyer, and Grandpa Linde), then went to a nice dinner with Grandpa Linde. We're counting down--school starts in 3 days!

Top 12 things that make Bodhi smile:

12. Singing...okay, so he might not be able to sing too much yet, but he sure loves to hear "The Wheels on the Bus", "Twinkle, Twinkle", "ABCs", and "Old MacDonald"
11. Things that make noise (including his glowworm (which lights up and sings him songs), his prayer bear (which recites prayers in kids' voices), his drums, etc.)
10. Reading books (his favorites right now are Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? and Guess How Much I Love You)
9. Riding bikes (he rides in his WeeRider seat, mounted on Daddy's bike, and wears his big boy helmet)
8. Water (taking baths, swimming, playing in the sink, you name it)!
7. When someone will grab onto his hands and help him walk around and explore
6. Doing anything outdoors (including fishing, hiking, and camping)
5. Driving his car around the neighborhood (with Mommy or Daddy pushing)
4. Crash landings, tickles, and being tossed up in the air--he's all boy!
3. Kids (especially his cousins)
2. Animals (especially Chuck and Gary (our dogs, or as Baxter calls them, Bodhi's big brothers), fish, and any stuffed animals (just take him into Cabela's and listen to him squeal))
1. Seeing Mom and Dad when they come home from work/class!

Road trip to Cody, Wyoming!

We made the annual road trip to Cody, Wyoming to go and visit our friends the Pequettes. Even though it took us about 7 hours to get there (thanks to the lovely road construction), Bodhi was quite the trooper! During our time there, Bodhi enjoyed doing the following: hanging out with his girlfriends (Aria (5), Promise (3), and Sunday (2); Promise, Sunday, and Bodhi all happen to currently weigh 27 pounds, despite their age differences; they also gave Bodhi his first tea party, where his favorite thing was to chew on the cups, plates, teapot, and anything else he could get his hands on), exploring the great outdoors (from playing in the front yard to swinging at the park, it was so nice to be in great company and relax in the beautiful weather), shopping at Sierra Trading Post (where we happened to find him some fun Keen shoes), watching Daddy fix up and ride Tim's moped and motorcycle (although he still may be a little disappointed that he's not big enough to ride them yet), enjoying the fine dining at Bubba's BBQ (okay, so Bodhi wasn't really able to enjoy this yet, but Mommy, Daddy, Adam, and Chris sure did), and checking out all of the indoor scenery (the fun shops, as well as all of the stuffed animals in the AmericInn Motel). All of these great events must have really worn Bodhi out, because he slept for over 4 hours on the way home! It was another great trip to Cody! Thank you, Pequettes! We decided that next time, we might just have to make the little trek to Yellowstone for the little guy!

Baking time!

Mommy hosted Bunco this month, and it was a great little get-together before the start of school! Tammy, Heidi, and Grandma Charlotte also came over to be subs. Daddy helped prepare the meal by grilling some BBQ chicken on the grill, and Mommy made calico beans, cornbread muffins, fruit salad, and cheesecake for dessert. It was a great evening, and Bodhi was really spoiled by all of the guests, including Lila (who insisted at the baby shower that his name should be Bunco)! The next night, Mommy baked up some cookies and muffins to take with us on our big trip to Cody, Wyoming to visit the Pequette's. Christy is expecting another baby, and I'm sure that Aria and Promise are anxiously awaiting their new sibling's arrival! We can't wait to spend a nice weekend with them and relax before school starts up again!

My first fishing trip

Cousin Heidi really wanted to go fishing, so since we didn't have the chance to ever go camping while Christa was visiting (darn it!), we thought it would be a great night to head up to Pactola and try our luck! We hiked down Veteran's Point, and met up with Heidi, Christa, and Gunner. We had to take some photos with the great scenery--it was such a beautiful night! We did have to dig out some sweats, though (Bodhi's are size 24 months--can you believe it?). Heidi caught quite a few little guys, thanks to some really big worms, and Daddy caught a sunfish right before we left. Boy, did Bodhi enjoy checking that fish out! He was so excited that he was shaking! He really wanted to touch it, and I think that he was hoping we could take it home with us and put it in the bathtub...maybe next time, right dad? After our big excursion, we headed over to great grandpa and grandma's to have some of the great leftovers that Brian made for all of us the night before (lots of seafood, potatoes, and corn)--what a great meal!

Meeting Charlee and Playing with Lucy

We were so excited to be able to hang out with the Dahmuses when they visited Rapid! We went to the hotel where they were staying, and had some great quality time together. Mommy really had fun holding little Charlee (she was over 8 pounds when she was born about 3 weeks ago), and playing with Lucy (who's almost 2). Bodhi also had fun checking the girls out--he sure thought that they were cute! He even let Lucy borrow his whale (thanks, Hayden), which she also seemed to enjoy! Of course, Bodhi absolutely loved playing in the water! He really gets a kick out of kicking and splashing in the water! He wore his little floatee suit, but Daddy said this was the last time (it's getting a little too snug = very tricky to get off)! It's so fun to think that Charlee and Bodhi will be in the same grade--crazy! We look forward to having Bodhi grow up with these girls--hopefully they'll be able to move back to Rapid ASAP!

Out for a drive!

Bodhi really does love his new set of wheels. Baxter and Sophie made a road with signs on the sidewalk (with sidewalk chalk), and we strolled up and down the sidewalks this afternoon, despite the 90+ degrees it was outside! He is definitely wanting to be more mobile, trying to stand up (even though he's belted in his car), trying to crawl (he can turn himself around 360 degrees and move himself backward, but we're still working on the forward movement), and loving to speed walk when someone will hold his hands. We're still trying to get him to eat food, even though it's been quite a struggle. He still makes faces just like when we started him on baby food, but we're trying to be persistent and find something that he'll like! He'll munch on Cheerios, but he spits them out after they're partially digested. He did, however, eat some yogurt melts tonight...we'll keep trying!

First Playdate with Halley!

We were so excited to go and meet baby Halley Hatch for the first time! We just love looking at all of the pictures that get emailed to us of her--she is so adorable! She was over 7 pounds when she was born 2 weeks past her due date, and she just seems so tiny! Bodhi loved looking at her, watching her sleep. It was crazy to think back to when Bodhi was a month old, and how he slept a lot then, too! Bodhi also really enjoyed Halley's dogs, Sherpa and Blue. He chased Blue around the living room (with Mommy's help), and really laughed hard whenever Sherpa barked at him. It will be a blast seeing Bodhi and Halley grow up together, and so much fun sharing their different milestones! We look forward to many playdates to come!

Mommy's new do

d

Because Mommy's hair was getting very long (and way too easy to pull and tug on), it was time for a haircut! Although it's quite a bit shorter, Bodhi can still manage to find ways to get Mommy's hair in his mouth! Pretty soon, Bodhi will be ready for another haircut! His blonde locks seem to be getting thicker! Mommy just loves how his hair curls up behind his ears! We took some pictures after church; we especially like his close-ups! You can see how much he enjoys experimenting with his tongue--curling it up, rolling it, sticking it out, etc. It really makes us giggle!

Another great day!

Well, the weather decided not to cooperate. We had planned on going camping at Roubaix Lake with Heidi and Christa, but the building clouds and frequent rainfall made us change our plans. Instead, we tried out Bodhi's push car for the first time (you can see from the photos that he had a blast, driving his little car all over the sidewalks by our house)! Then, we went to Hermosa to eat at Lintz Bros. pizza (we all highly recommend the taco pizza--yummy)! We ended the evening by going over to Tammy's house and utilizing her fire pit to make some s'mores--we really made the most of the day, despite the weather!
