Heather back to work

Heather had to go back to work to support my extravagant lifestyle. I am now in charge in the Am to take The big B out to Gmas. Its hard to know all the things I will need to take but Mom is hip to the jive and makes sure I am well stocked.

We are settling into working life with a child. It seems that we can function well without much sleep. Bodhi has been doing his part and sleeping now and then.

Aunt Dena and Uncle Walter sent Sparky for Xmas and Bodhi looks great. We better keep this one in case he wants to play for them..."Hey, I am a life-long fan...man"

Dan

There were many tears the first morning from Mommy, both before she went to work and after she got there; she kept a Kleenex in her pocket just in case. It helped, though, to 1. be reminded by dad that he's got great people taking care of him (a grandma and grandpa who don't like to put him down) and 2. see my students; some of the them that I've had before (all of them inquiring about Bodhi and wanting him to be able to come to class with me) and some of them new (they laughed at my jokes and enjoyed seeing pictures of the little guy, and that made me feel better)! Plus, I do get to call grandma and check in on things during my break, and that helps, too! Uncle Jeff called me up after each of the first two days, asking me how it was and promising that it will get easier--we'll hang in there, I guess!

Our little tadpole!

It was so exciting to take Bodhi swimming for the first time! We went swimming quite a few times when I was pregnant (it felt great to feel weightless in the water), and I was anxious to see how he'd feel about it now. After purchasing some Little Swimmers diapers (we had to kind of go on a wild goose chase for these--we went to 4 different stores before we found them), we packed our suits and headed to the YMCA family pool. He looked so darn cute with his little swimming trunks on! Daddy took him into the water first, and I think that the water surprised him a bit. The temperature of the water was a little cooler than normal, but he calmed down and relaxed right away, floating along in the water. We look forward to many more swimming experiences to come!

Pregnancy pals

Because Pastor Rebecca and I were both pregnant at the same time, we sure had fun sharing our stories, comparing our bellies, and letting the little guys talk to each other while they were in the womb! It was so much fun for Bodhi and Henry to actually meet; the crazy thing was, they were even wearing matching outfits already! Henry's 5 days older, and was over 9 pounds when he was born. Rebecca says that he's doing a good job of trying to catch up with Bodhi's size, because he likes to eat a lot, too! We look forward to seeing them grow up together!

Back to reality for mommy

This past weekend was a little tough...Mommy had to go back to her masters class Friday night and all day Saturday, and daddy was able to stay home and take care of Bodhi. We had plenty of milk stored up, so I wasn't worried about that, but it was sure tough to leave my two favorite boys at home, while I was supposed to focusing on Supervision! I'm happy to say, though, that everyone survived. Friday night, the guys stayed home; Saturday, Bodhi was able to visit with Nancy (Rainer's wife) while daddy and Rainer moved a hot tub. Then, Bodhi met everyone from my class right before our lunch break, and mommy was able to go to lunch with her boys. It's very tough to leave the little guy, but I feel so much better knowing that he's in such great hands! Way to go, daddy!

Heather's baby picture

After looking through my baby pictures, I decided to post this one for a couple of reasons: 1. Because Jeff looks so darn cute in this picture--what a big brother, huh? 2. I thought Bodhi most closely resembles me in this picture (because he's frequently making the "Mommy, feed me!" face. I can see a few resemblances between us...what do you think?

We all went skiing on New Year's Day and had a great time. Bodhi did great on the trip up and back. He seemed to really like the lodge and all the excitement. I cannot wait until I have another ski buddy. Heather skied really well and seemed to have more confidence since last season. The snow was perfect on a beautiful day. We hope to go cross country skiing soon with Grandpa Dave and Marilyn.
